Nobody planned for the charger
Every decision on the outside of a house gets made on purpose. Siding, trim, hardware. The charger doesn't. This checklist exists because covers get chosen the same way the charger did, quickly, without much information. This is the information.
Background
This comes out of years spent in architectural siding materials at, not a general interest in EV chargers. The checklist reflects what actually holds up outside, not marketing claims from a cover manufacturer.
